Wine Tasting In Napa

Wine Tasting In Napa

Welcome to my kitchen in the Wild West Rocky Mountains.   I am a Denver area food blogger.

It’s about food.  I love to cook, I read cookbooks like novels, and I love to share information.  Let’s talk!

I’m not a trained chef, but I have spent years sifting though cookbooks,  studying recipes, tweaking them to suit our tastes and cooking…cooking…cooking.   I love to cook all kinds of food, but do like to focus on perfecting my skills in preparing authentic Mexican Food and recipes that reflect the flavors of the West.

My name is Lea Ann and I’m based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado which is South of Denver and at the base of our majestic Rocky Mountains.  Please join me in my adventures in my kitchen in the Rockies with some side trips to Restaurants in the Denver area who inspire me.

My theory about restaurants is that I try always to patronize our small business owners and avoid chain restaurants.

My theory about grocery shopping:  I shop at Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage, or Tony’s Market for just about everything.  Not only for the whole foods, organic experience, but the quality is just plain superior.

And then there’s our obsessive birdwatching habit.   You’ll also read about our birding adventures.

My husband and I also love the challenge of pairing the perfect wine with our dinner.

This is a photo of me with my “loot” purchased at St. Supery Winery in Napa.  One of our many enjoyable wine tasting trips.

Please comment often, I’ll be anxious to hear what you loved or hated.

    Take care!!

  20. Great meeting you today. We need to get together and talk about all of the cookbooks we’ve read. I also read cookbooks like novels and people laugh at me at times because I always have a cookbook with me. Also, my husband and I are not only foodies but also winos (guess I should describe that differently….we love wine!)
The spiced rubbed salmon sounds great. I love wild salmon and can’t get enough of it when it’s in season. The cilantro butter is so versatile…I’m thinking it would be great with some grilled chicken. Yum.
Here’s to great food and great wine!
